A year has passed...

Well, its almost been a year since our wedding... in fact, there is only 1 hour and 45 minutes until our first anniversary! What a year it has been!

We went on our honeymoon to Byron Bay and stayed in an amazing resort right on the beach! Then we went for a week to Tamborine Mountain and stayed with my family for a week before heading home and setting up our home in Pitt Town for the next four months!

Pitt Town was an experience and a half on its own! It belongs to my in laws who use the property to run their machinery/truck business from. Our "home" was an office block transformed into a tiny cottage where we began our married life. It was ok at first but before long, showering outside, running out of electricity (due to the sun not being out for long enough during the week!) when I was ironing my work uniform and running out of water (we were on tank water too!) while you have shampoo in your hair just became a little too much!

We were still looking to buy a house, and had been hunting around for ages - by ages I mean, more than a year! - and then my husband, Nigel's boss told him a man who ran the local glass business was looking to sell his house. That same night, Nigel came home from work, and convinced me to go and have a look at the place, and instantly I knew it was the one I wanted! It was perfect for us!

A few weeks later, we got our keys to our new place and began some minor renovations. Replaced the old lights with down lights throughout the house, new paint, that kinda thing and moved in a week later!

We also became the proud owners of our dog Ella in early March. We rescued her from the pound, my poor bubba was abused before we got her but she is now a very loyal, very loved and very spoilt dog who constantly has a "happy tail". Then, in April, we decided to get Ella a sister and purchased Zoey from the pet shop near my work. Zoey is a great dog, and a very good friend to Ella. In November, sadly, my Nanna passed away and we took Lol into our care. Lol is a great dog, also very loyal and although it took a bit longer for Lol to fit in with Zoey and Ella, now they are all best friends! Lol particularly loves Nigel. Always following him around and sitting on his lap when he is watching TV or is on the computer. Right now, she is laying by his feet. It really is beautiful and in a way, I feel as though my Nanna is still with us, living through her beloved dog.

What else has happened? My best friend, Belinda got engaged! Their wedding is a long time away, but it will be worth the wait I think! My good friend Tanya had a baby, Adeline. The little girl with the cutest face I have ever seen!

I wonder what the next year has to offer?
